Function:

The Senior Sales Associate will assist management in creating and sustaining a pleasant work environment and excellent customer relationships.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Assist in creating and sustaining a pleasant and hospitable work environment and excellent customer relationships.

2. Understand and hold staff accountable to the Guide to Thrift Store & Donation Center Operations manual and all other policies and procedure by all store personnel.

3. Assist the manager in meeting sales, production, and expense budget goals maintaining a profitable operation.

4. Receive applications participate in interviewing of applicants when needed.

5. Ensure that all safety measures are consistent with The Salvation Army policy and Government regulations and all personnel are in compliance.

6. Assist in scheduling of sales associates and unpaid staff as required.

7. Assist in completion of payroll information biweekly for all store personnel noting signatures, absenteeism, overtime, etc. Submit same as requested.

8. Assist manager and assistant manager to ensure that the store is well stocked.

9. Assist in training, direction, and supervision for new employees and unpaid staff along with retraining for all personnel, as requested.

10. Responsible for the proper accounting and banking of cash receipts as per “Safekeeping of Salvation Army Funds” policy.

11. Assure all paper work and sales reports are filled out completely and forwarded to the finance department daily.

12. Responsible for maintaining good customer relations recognizing the type of service expected from employees of The Salvation Army.

14. Function as the 3rd Key, opening/closing the store as scheduled, including making bank deposits.

16. Other duties as may be assigned by immediate supervisor and/or Administrator.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent

2. Experience in sales.

3. Must possess a valid driver’s license with acceptable DMV record.

5. Excellent communication and supervisory skills.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.50 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 28 per week
